Refund Policy

At On Target Outdoors, we strive to provide quality products and exceptional customer service. Due to the nature of the products we sell, including firearms and other regulated items, certain restrictions apply to returns, exchanges, and refunds. By placing an order with On Target Outdoors, you agree to the terms outlined in this Refund Policy.

General Return Policy

Customers should inspect all products immediately upon receipt. If you believe an item was shipped incorrectly, damaged during transit, or is defective, you must contact us within 3 business days of delivery.

Return requests submitted after this period may not be eligible for approval.

To be eligible for a return, products must:

  • Be unused and in original condition

  • Include all original packaging, manuals, accessories, and documentation

  • Not show signs of installation, modification, or misuse

  • Be accompanied by proof of purchase

All returns require prior authorization from On Target Outdoors. Unauthorized returns may be refused and returned to the sender at the customer’s expense.

Firearms Sales

All firearm sales are considered final once the firearm has been transferred to the purchaser by the receiving Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL).

Before completing the transfer, customers should carefully inspect the firearm at the receiving FFL dealer. If there is a problem with the firearm, do not complete the transfer. Instead, contact On Target Outdoors immediately so that we can review the issue and determine an appropriate resolution.

Once a firearm transfer has been completed:

  • No returns will be accepted for non-defective firearms.

  • No refunds will be issued for firearms that have been transferred to the purchaser.

  • Warranty claims must be handled through the manufacturer when applicable.

Customers are responsible for verifying that the firearm being purchased is legal to own in their state, county, or municipality.

Orders Denied During Background Checks

If a customer fails a required background check or is otherwise prohibited from taking possession of a firearm:

  • The firearm may be returned to On Target Outdoors.

  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

  • Return shipping charges may be deducted from any refund.

  • A restocking fee of up to 20% may be assessed.

  • Any fees charged by the receiving FFL dealer remain the customer’s responsibility.

Refunds will not be processed until the firearm has been returned and inspected.

Firearms Ordered in Violation of State or Local Laws

Customers are solely responsible for ensuring that products ordered comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

If an order cannot be completed because the product is prohibited in the customer’s jurisdiction:

  • The order may be canceled.

  • Shipping costs are non-refundable.

  • A restocking fee may apply.

  • Any return shipping expenses may be deducted from the refund amount.

Ammunition, Primers, Powder, and Reloading Components

For safety and regulatory reasons, the following items are non-returnable:

  • Ammunition

  • Primers

  • Smokeless powder

  • Black powder

  • Reloading components opened by the customer

  • Hazardous materials

No refunds or exchanges will be issued unless the item was shipped incorrectly or arrived damaged.

Optics, Accessories, and General Merchandise

Unused accessories, optics, apparel, and general merchandise may be eligible for return within 30 days of delivery, subject to approval.

Returned items must:

  • Be in new, resalable condition

  • Include original packaging

  • Include all accessories and documentation

  • Show no signs of wear, installation, or use

Items returned in damaged or incomplete condition may be refused or subject to a partial refund.

Special Orders

Special-order products, custom firearms, gunsmithing work, and products ordered specifically at a customer’s request are generally non-refundable and non-returnable.

Deposits placed on special-order items may also be non-refundable.

If you have questions regarding a special order, please contact us before placing your order.

Defective Products

If a product is determined to be defective upon arrival, customers should contact us promptly.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • Replace the product

  • Arrange manufacturer warranty service

  • Authorize a return

  • Issue store credit

  • Issue a refund where appropriate

Manufacturer warranties remain the primary remedy for many firearm and accessory defects.

Damaged or Incorrect Shipments

If an order arrives damaged or you receive the wrong product:

  • Contact us within 3 business days of delivery.

  • Retain all packaging materials.

  • Provide photographs of the product and packaging if requested.

We will work with the shipping carrier and the customer to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Failure to report shipping damage promptly may affect eligibility for a claim.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will generally be issued using the original payment method.

Refund processing times may vary depending on:

  • Financial institutions

  • Credit card companies

  • Payment processors

  • Return inspection requirements

Shipping charges, transfer fees, background check fees, and other third-party costs are generally non-refundable unless required by law.

Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled prior to shipment, subject to inventory status and processing stage.

If an order has already shipped, cancellation may not be possible and standard return procedures will apply.

Special-order products, firearms already transferred to an FFL, and custom products may not be eligible for cancellation.

Limitation of Liability

On Target Outdoors reserves the right to refuse returns, refunds, or exchanges that do not comply with this policy.

Nothing in this Refund Policy shall limit any rights provided under applicable law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability shall be limited to the purchase price of the product in question.
